The Department of Sociology at University of Toronto Mississauga within the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure-stream appointment at the Assistant Professor level beginning July 1, 2015.
We seek a candidate with primary scholarly interests in one or more of the areas of research specialization in our department (for areas, see http://www.sociology.utoronto.ca/research/specialization.htm). In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate teaching expertise and a commitment to teaching courses in quantitative methods/social statistics. Our ideal candidate will contribute to the University’s commitment to equity and diversity. A Ph.D. in Sociology or a closely related field is required.
Candidates must demonstrate excellence in research and teaching. Salary is commensurate with qualification and experience. Successful candidates will teach in the undergraduate program at the University of Toronto Mississauga.
They will also be a member of the Graduate Department of Sociology, University of Toronto and will be expected to develop an independently funded program of research and teach in the graduate program at the downtown campus.
