The Faculty of Management, Economics, and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne, Germany is pleased to announce the following vacancy: 1 Junior Professorship (W1, without tenure track) in Social Science Research Methods We are looking for a social scientist who has proven his/her scientific aptitude through out- standing work in his/her doctoral studies.
Candidates for this position should have very good skills in social science research methods. International work experiences, scientific publications in international academic journals as well as teaching experience are desirable. Successful candidates will be expected to qualify for the position of a university professor by do- ing independent research and teaching in their respective a rea of expertise. The successful candidate will be integrated into the interdisciplinary research network of the Graduate School.
The Junior Professor will be located at the Cologne Graduate School (CGS) in Management, Economics, and Social Sciences. Together with the other professors of the CGS, the successful candidate is responsible for the methods education of the facultyâ€™s PhD students that come from all disciplines represented at the faculty. It is expected that he/she provides courses in research design, case-oriented (comparative) methods or specialized courses for the analysis of survey data. Cologne Graduate Schoolâ€™s classes are held in English.
The successful candidate should also contribute to the academic life of the CGS (Brown Bag Seminar and other scientific events). Junior Professors are employed for three years. An extension for another three years is possible based on performance evaluation.
